Defining needs in bespoke home design
The brief to prepare before design begins, your living habits, and a method for setting priorities.
What is a brief?
A brief is the list that defines which spaces are wanted, at what size and with what relationships. It is the starting point of the design, and the clearer it is, the faster the process moves.
Living habits
How many people will live there, how often are there guests, how should the kitchen and living area relate, is there a need to work from home? These questions directly determine the plan layout.
Setting priorities
Accepting that not every wish carries the same weight, an order of priority should be established. When budget and area constraints emerge, this order makes decisions easier.
Future use
The family's situation ten years from now should be considered; spaces that allow flexible use create value in the long term.
